Little House on the Prairie We are Not!

Fruits of our labor this year!! I definately have an appreciation for the pioneers and the farmers of this country!! We had drenching rains last year. This year we didn't have rain for weeks and weeks. But we did all right
Just the beginning The berries are my favorite part of this whole farming thing! Everything is grown organically and chemical free. Blackberries and fresh picked raspberries, Yum! We also grow blueberries and elderberries

Ben's sister Eileen, spent weeks canning. We have homemade sweet pickle relish, squash pickles which are delicious, bread and butter pickles, salsa, mixed vegetables (hot and sweet), zucchini relish, peach preserves and elderberry jam. I can't even count how many loaves of zucchini bread, bags of summer squash and butternut squash, bell peppers, raspberries and tomato sauce that we have in the freezer now. It will be a long winter here in New England, but we can look forward to yummy soups, stews and other dishes made with our homegrown produce!
Better than any grocery store!
